Brighton star makes ‘promise’ to Arsenal fans ahead of Tottenham clash

Brighton midfielder Enock Mwepu has promised Arsenal fans that the Seagulls will do everything they can to beat Tottenham on Saturday.

Brighton pulled off a major upset at the Emirates last Saturday as they turned Arsenal over 2-1.

Mwepu had an important hand to play in the win as he set up Leandro Trossard’s goal in the first half before finding the back of the net after the interval with a perfectly-directed volley from the edge of the box.

Arsenal’s defeat and Tottenham’s subsequent win at Villa Park meant that Antonio Conte’s men built up a three-point lead over the Gunners in the race for the fourth spot.

Graham Potter’s men are set to travel to the other side of North London this week and Arsenal fans will be hoping they can pull off another upset.

Mwepu has now assured Mikel Arteta’s side that he and his teammates will do their all to come away with three points from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Zambian international told The Daily Mail: “Normally we would be focused on our own goals but I can promise we will go into the game and do our best to win again. That would be good for them (Arsenal) I guess.”

Spurs Web Opinion

In many ways, I think Brighton are almost the perfect opponents for us, given the way we are set up under Conte.

Graham Potter’s men will want to have the ball and will not be shy to commit bodies forward, which will give our forwards the space to hurt them.

However, having said that, every team in the Premier League these days have some top players and things could get quite complicated for us if the Seagulls score first.
