Bruno Fernandes fires warning to Spurs ahead of Man United clash

Bruno Fernandes has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they will be coming up against one of the best players in the world in Paul Pogba when the sides go up against one another on June 19.

The clash between Spurs and Manchester United is a proverbial six-pointer with both sides very much in the running for Champions League qualification with nine games left of the season.

A win for Spurs could see them cut down the points gap to fourth place to just four points while a win for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side will see them leapfrog Chelsea into fourth for the moment.

While the Lilywhites have the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn and Moussa Sissoko back from injury, the Red Devils have also benefited from the league’s suspension as it has given both Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford the time to regain their fitness.

Fernandes, who has been in exemplary form since arriving at Old Trafford in January, admitted that he is looking forward to playing with Pogba.

Speaking about the France international, the 25-year-old said in an interview on Instagram Live with Mario Djurovski (as relayed by Football.London): “I think Paul is one of the best players in Manchester and in the world.

“He was injured for a lot of time. The opportunity to play side to side with him is fantastic because you want to play with the best players you can.”

Spurs Web Opinion

United would have likely beaten us if the game had gone ahead in March as originally planned given the run they were on and how badly we are struggling back then. However, with key players back fit for both sides, it is going to be a really tight game. I believe the fitness levels of the two teams will play a massive role in the result with the players coming back after an extended break.
