Bundesliga runners-up Schalke in talks for Spurs defender

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with German club Schalke over a potential loan move for Danny Rose, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs have been willing to offload Rose over the course of this transfer window with a move back up to the north of England looking the most likely outcome.

However, with less than one day left of the transfer window, it is believed last season’s Bundesliga runner-ups are in talks over a loan move for the 28-year-old.

Rose has had a turbulent past 12 months with Tottenham having publically criticised the club to The Sun newspaper.

The Yorkshireman also revealed his struggles with depression during his lengthy injury.

In February 2017 Rose picked up an injury against former club Sunderland which saw the left-back sit out for nine months.

In that time, Ben Davies excelled under Mauricio Pochettino to earn himself a first-team place under the Argentine manager.

Since Rose’s return, he has struggled to work his way back into the squad which has not done his future with the north London side any favours.

Spurs fans, would you be happy to see Rose leave so late in the transfer window on loan?

  1. Nope – quality player just opens his mouth and it runs away with him. Would seriously struggle to replace him at any point let alone now

  2. He has battled depression. All Yiddos and the management under Poch and Levy need to show support and help get him back to form and lead with his heart. We need to encourage some long timers to retire from WHL rather than treat every player as a use and throw commodity. We will pay a lot to replace him. Others are no fools. Only a switch with a serious talent like Sessegnon would have made sense and why do you think Fulham rejected it ? A loan cash flow to Schalke post transfer window closing will also be revenue too little too late.
