Burnley confirm three fans have been arrested following anti-Semitic gesture at Spurs

Burnley have confirmed that three arrests have been made in the away end of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after some appalling videos emerged on social media.

Tottenham edged Burnley out 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a penalty at the end of the first half, which Harry Kane converted with typically ruthless efficiency.

The win helped Spurs leapfrog Arsenal into fourth place and pile pressure on the Gunners ahead of their trip to St James’ Park.

However, the positive result was marred by some off-field incidents, with one video circulating on social media showing a Burnley supporter performing a Nazi salute towards the home fans.

The Anti-racism education organisation, Show Racism the Red Card, called on Burnley to help identify the fan in question.

Burnley have now confirmed that swift action has been taken, with three of their supporters being arrested for their antics on Sunday. They also vowed to continue to work together with Spurs, Met Police and Lancs Police on the investigation.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is unbelievable that these sorts of discriminatory behaviours still go on in 2022 and the perpetrators deserve to have the rule book thrown at them.

However, it is important to remember that all fan bases have a small proportion of idiots like this and it is not fair to tar all Burnley fans because of these people’s actions.
