Cafu and Roberto Carlos both claim Heung-min Son is better than Erling Haaland

Brazilian legends Cafu and Roberto Carlos have both ranked Son Heung-min higher than Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

After being overshadowed by Harry Kane during his first few seasons at Spurs, Son finally seems to be getting the credit he deserves over the last couple of years.

The South Korean shared the Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah last season, with the feat made even more impressive by the fact he is not Tottenham’s penalty taker.

West Ham star Michail Antonio even named the 29-year-old as the best player in the Premier League on the Footballer’s Football Podcast back in May.

Son will be hoping to guide Tottenham to silverware as the North London club embark on Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge.

Cafu and Carlos were both asked to rank the Spurs forward, Salah and Haaland in order, and both legends named the former Bayer Leverkusen man as their second pick ahead of Haaland.

Cafu told UMM: “Mohamed Salah, Son and then Haaland three”, before Carlos added: “The first is Mohamed Salah, Son is second, then after, Haaland.”

It is great to see Son being in the conversation among the best players in Premier League. The South Korean certainly deserves the plaudits he is getting, given how unbelievably consistent he has been over the last five years.
