‘Call me mad’ – Pundit makes confident Tottenham top-four prediction

Jamie O’Hara believes that Tottenham Hotspur will secure a top-four finish this season ahead of the likes of Arsenal, West Ham United and Manchester United.

After the disappointing 1-1 draw against ten-men Southampton last Tuesday, Spurs got their pursuit of Champions League qualification back on track on Saturday as they edged out Watford 1-0.

Davinson Sanchez’s stoppage-time winner at Vicarage Road has taken Antonio Conte’s men to within two points of Arsenal in fourth place, with two games in hand over their North London rivals.

However, the race for Champions League qualification looks set to be extremely tight, with four sides seemingly fighting for just one position, unless Chelsea get sucked back into the race in the coming months.

O’Hara is confident that Conte can help the Lilywhites pip their rivals to the fourth spot this season, insisting the Italian has already instilled a winning mentality into the squad.

When asked who will finish fourth, the former Tottenham midfielder told talkSPORT (8:38 am, January 3, 2022): “People are just going to call me mad and say that I have got my Spurs hat on, but I genuinely think Spurs because we have got the manager and he has instilled this belief now that we are going to go and win games even when we are not playing well.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been impressed with Arsenal’s improvements over the last couple of months. It seems unlikely that Arteta’s men are going to fall off anytime soon.

However, I still think Tottenham’s biggest challengers for fourth place this season will be Man Utd. I expect their results to pick up once Ragnick gets his ideas across.
