‘Calming presence’ – On-loan Tottenham star hailed for his leadership qualities

Joe Rodon’s reputation continues to grow with each passing game for Leeds United, with the centre-back getting huge plaudits for his leadership after the Welsh side’s 3-0 win over Rotherham on Saturday.

Rodon struggled to get a run in the Tottenham side during the last three years but the centre-back has been able to get his career back on track since his switch to Leeds, demonstrating that he can be reliable at the Championship level.

In fact, one can argue that the 26-year-old has already shown that he is too good for the second tier, which is why several Premier League sides are allegedly looking at the Tottenham man ahead of next summer (Football Insider).

It was even reported by The Athletic last month that the expectation at Elland Road is that Spurs will demand £15m for the Wales international’s services.

Joe Rodon continues to thrive with Leeds United

Rodon’s value appears to be growing with each subsequent appearance, with the centre-back being hailed by The Yorkshire Evening Post after his showing against Rotherham.

The outlet gave the defender a rating of eight out of ten and wrote about his performance: “Solid, steady and brought a calming presence. Showed his leadership in periods where it threatened to get a bit frantic.”

While Leeds would be keen to secure Rodon permanently before the summer to avoid competition, it is in Tottenham’s interest to wait until the end of the season to make a sale.

A lot of clubs are likely to come forward to sign the centre-back next summer and the Lilywhites would be hoping to get a bidding war going and maximise the fee.
