Tottenham Hotspur brushed aside Red Star Belgrade 4-0 at the Rajko Mitic Stadium to put themselves in a fantastic position to progress from Group B of the Champions League.
This was the team’s first away win of the season and also the first time the defence has managed a clean sheet on the road this campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino made wholesale changes to the defence with Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Juan Foyth all coming in and putting in solid performances in the back four
However, it was our midfield which was the star of the show as Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso started together for the first time and produced some scintillating football.
Some Spurs fans on social media were particularly pleased with Lo Celso’s showing and urged Pochettino to stick with a similar system for Saturday’s clash against Sheffield United, rather than chopping and changing once again.
Here’s how some fans reacted to the team’s fantastic display

What a bit of fresh blood and enthusiasm can do to a side. Make no mistake, any European away tie is tough, let alone going to Belgrade. Superb performance. Up the Spurs.

4-0 win away from home. A night without too much stress for once. Thank you, Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion
The comprehensive win and clean sheet will be huge for the players’ confidence as they looked to be lacking in belief particularly in away matches. Lo Celso not only looked a real talent on the ball but his work rate and willingness to win the ball back were also encouraging to watch. Hopefully, the Argentine now gets a run of games under his belt and establishes himself in the side.
