‘Cannot be better’ – Dejan Kulusevski reveals how happy he is with Spurs form

Speaking after the win over Nottingham Forest tonight, Dejan Kulusevski took a moment to relish just how good his form has been of late, and credited his own right foot on a successful evening.

Spurs made it two wins in a row with a 2-0 win away at Nottingham Forest tonight, and they have Dejan Kulusevski to thank for the result.

The Swedish star created the first goal just before half-time, whipping in a perfect cross for Richarlison to head home his third goal in the last two games.

In the second half, Kulusevski added to his own tally after Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner’s wayward pass landed at the feet of the Spurs attacker. The 23-year-old smashed home a cool finish to make it five goals and two assists this season (Transfermarkt).

After the sending off of Yves Bissouma with 20 minutes to go, Ange Postecoglou had to shuffle his line up and it was down to Kulusevski to lead the line. The winger carried the ball with intent until the dying moments, creating even more attacking chances.

Kulusevski happy with his performance

In his post-match interview (via BBC Sport), Kulusevski commented on how happy he is with the way things are going for him of late.

He said: “It cannot be better. Everything is fantastic, not only today but in these last few weeks.

“First half we had a lot of the ball we just had to stay patient. Second half they were strong, it is not easy to play at this ground with the fans’ energy. We had the red card and then we had to show our character.”

And, on his fine assist in the first half, he added: “I cannot do anymore. I just try to give my teammates the chance to score. [Richarlison] is a top striker, we give him those balls and he will score them.

“I like my right foot, it is too underrated by me. I have to keep shooting with my right foot.”

Kulusevski is clearly back to his best, and perhaps even looks better than ever right now. His work rate is so impressive, he is creating chances, and he’s finding the back of the net himself, too. What a performance.
