Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have this morning been reacting with frustration over the news that Luis Diaz looks set to join Liverpool before the transfer window closes.
The Athletic have reported that the Anfield outfit are set to win the race for the Porto winger ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are being tipped to agree on a fee of around €60million (£49.9million) including add-ons, with the player keen to make the move to Merseyside despite the interest from Tottenham.
Diaz has scored 16 goals and added six assists in 28 games in all competitions for the Portuguese giants this season (transfermarkt).

Liverpool is a team that is passive in investing.
Tottenham has too much time and a lot of positions they need. Conte is leaving.— Jeonghwan (@asd147856) January 28, 2022
Well pay that money for Lamptey now. An actual RWB who will take us to another level

You mean Porto want 60m so Liverpool just pay them 60 they don’t offer 45 and then cry that Porto want more and spend 3 days hoping they change their minds, clubs a joke, Paratici a fraud

We do the hard work and agree the fees just for a bigger team to take the deal away from us. We take too long to save every penny possible, instead of just getting the deal done, knowing the competition around us. Willian all over again.

The ground will be even emptier after this transfer window. Levy not paying transfer fees will be completely irrelevant when much bigger sums stop coming in to the club from supporters. Levy not a football man. #weneedchange

SpursWeb Opinion
This has become another chapter in the laughing stock of Tottenham’s transfer dealings in what can be considered another ‘nearly’ signing to rank among other failures in recent years including Jack Grealish, Willian, Paulo Dybala and Sergio Aguero.
Fans will be praying that incomings can still be achieved which will satisfy the needs of Antonio Conte, the prospect of the Italian walking away in frustration and Spurs going back to square one is not a nice prospect.
