“Can’t wait to see him at Spurs” – Some Spurs fans excited at youngster’s international showing

Tottenham fans haven’t had an opportunity to see much of Jack Clarke since the club signed the teenager at the start of the summer.

Clarke was subsequently loaned back to Leeds United for the remainder of the season but has hardly featured so far for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Some Spurs fans may have questioned if it was the right decision to loan him back to Leeds given how sparingly he is being used this season.

However, it is a completely different equation in the international front as Clarke made his England U-20 debut against the Netherlands on Saturday as both sides played out a goalless draw.

The 18-year-old was named as a starter in the side that took on Switzerland yesterday and netted the winner in stoppage time as he produced a thumping header to give England all three points.

Clarke’s performance and the goal left Spurs fans even more bewildered as to why he isn’t getting opportunities with Leeds.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the youngster’s showing against Switzerland:

It does look like Bielsa isn’t too keen to play him given that he has no future at Leeds. If this situation is going to continue, Tottenham will be better off terminating the loan with Leeds and loaning him elsewhere instead. At 18 years of age, he needs to keep playing regularly to mature into a top player.
