Jermaine Jenas is hoping to force his way back into the England squad after returning to action with Tottenham.
The midfielder recently recovered from a calf injury and scored his first goal of the season in the 5-0 win against Burnley at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Jenas revealed that he had a chance meeting with England boss Fabio Capello, who has given him the belief to force his way into the national side.
“I bumped into him on a train the other day going to Bobby Robson’s memorial,” Jenas said.
“We had a quick word. I hadn’t spoken to him for a while actually. He was all positive and all I can keep doing is what I’m doing on the pitch and hopefully I’ll be in with a shout.
“I’ve just to keep doing what I did against Burnley and hopefully I’ll be knocking on the door and get a chance in the England team again and show Capello what I can do.”
Do you think that Jenas is good enough for England?
