Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that Los Blancos are considering re-signing rumoured Tottenham target Miguel Gutierrez in the summer.
Gutierrez, who came through Madrid’s youth system, has developed impressively since his switch to Girona 18 months ago, having arguably been one of the best left-backs on show across La Liga this season.
It was reported by Relevo a little over a week ago that the 22-year-old’s performances had caught the attention of a number of clubs across Europe, including Spurs.
The report claimed that the Lilywhites could potentially face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea for the Spain Under-21 international, who is thought to have a €35m (£30m) release clause in his contract.
However, the outlet explained that Madrid have a 50 per cent sell-on clause for the player, which would mean that they can activate the release clause by paying just €17.5m (£15m).

Real Madrid may look to re-sign Miguel Gutierrez
Ancelotti himself has now confirmed that the 14-time European champions are considering bringing Gutierrez back to the Spanish capital.
The Real Madrid boss said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Miguel Gutierrez has improved a lot at Girona. He’s playing very well — so we will decide in summer what to do.”

Having come through Madrid’s youth ranks, Gutierrez would likely be keen on succeeding at his boyhood club. That along with the 50 per cent sell-on clause makes the La Liga giants the overwhelming favourites to beat the likes of Spurs to the left-back’s signature.
