Carragher: Spurs ace has been one of the best in the PL this season

When Tottenham lost Dele Alli to a hamstring injury against Fulham just days after Harry Kane was ruled out until March with an ankle injury, even the most optimistic of Spurs fans would have been worried about the danger of their season unraveling.

Fast forward one month and Spurs have won all four of the Premier League games and thrashed Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

One player who has been instrumental in Tottenham’s recent performances has been Son Heung-Min. The South Korean has been in tremendous form having scored 13 and assisted 6 times in 17 appearances since the start of December.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has declared that Son has been one of the best players in the League this season, and said that he has been the sole reason Tottenham haven’t missed the attacking prowess of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Speaking to Goal.com, Carragher said, “I think he’s been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.

“There has been a lot of talk this season that Tottenham will miss Kane and Alli, but they are not being missed because of Son. Son is playing absolutely fantastic as a centre-forward, left and right.

“He had a great start to his career in Germany but, when he first came to Tottenham, some fans thought he would be a squad player. But, now, he has made himself a first-choice player.”
