Carragher thinks Spurs are at a disadvantage in the North London derby for one reason

Jamie Carragher has been discussing the upcoming North London derby, and he has predicted Arsenal will win due to the fact Spurs haven’t played in two weeks.

Tottenham have a chance to pull the rug from under their fiercest rivals this weekend, by beating Arsenal and halting their charge towards the Premier League title.

Arsenal are currently top of the table with a one-point lead over Manchester City, but the latter do have a game in hand on the Gunners.

Spurs, meanwhile, are fighting for a place in the top four and with it, a spot in the Champions League for next season.

So, beating Arsenal on Sunday is not just a case of bragging rights anymore. Instead, it’s also a chance to really ruin the party for their rivals, and propel themselves into the top four.

Will Spurs be rusty on Sunday?

But, the Lilywhites go into the big derby on Sunday having not played a game in two weeks, with their last game being the disastrous defeat at the hands of Newcastle United. Arsenal have kept themselves sharp with games against Wolves and Chelsea in the meantime.

This could impact the game on Sunday according to Jamie Carragher, who offered his prediction on the Stick to Football podcast recently.

He said: “Tottenham haven’t played for a long time. Have Tottenham not played for two weeks or 10 days or something? I’m going 2-1 Arsenal.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I don’t think there can be any excuse if we don’t go in all-guns-blazing for this one. I don’t care if the players haven’t played in two weeks, they should be fired up and feeling fresh. Hopefully, Arsenal will be feeling a bit of fatigue given their schedule that we can take advantage of and make them suffer on Sunday.
