Celtic keeper hints that Tottenham player wants to join

New Celtic signing Fraser Forster has revealed that he has spoken with Victor Wanyama in the past few days.

Southampton goakeeper has joined the Scottish giants on loan for the remainder of the season which sees him reunited with manager Neil Lennon, who he played under for four years before joining the Saints (BBC).

Forster has chosen to wear the number 67 shirt, which was the number that Wanyama wore during his time at Parkhead.

In an interview in 2011, Wanyama revealed that he chose the squad number to show his appreciation for the Celtic 1967 squad that were known as the Lisbon Lions after winning the European Cup (BBC).

Wanyama contacted Forster, who he played with at both Celtic and Southampton to hint that he may want a return to Scotland when he said to keep his old shirt warm for him.

Forster told The Scottish Sun when asked about the squad number: “I picked it, yeah. But Victor [Wanyama] was straight onto me after the game. He’s on at me and saying keep my shirt warm for a bit!”

The Kenyan international has been heavily linked with a move to Belgian outfit Club Brugge over the past week, with talks said to be ongoing (BBC).
