Celtic and Leeds join race for Spurs defender

Celtic and Leeds United are the latest two clubs to be linked with a loan move for Jonathan Woodgate.

The Spurs defender is expected to go out on loan this month in order to get some first-team football after more than 12 months out injured.

Woodgate, 30, started his career at Leeds and made 99 appearances for the club before moving to Newcastle.

Celtic are also said to be interested and have previously taken Robbie Keane on loan from White Hart Lane.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I think Leeds would be best for him as I think Leeds looking for promotion from the Championship will be more competetive than the 2 horse race of the SPL
