Centre-back target Alessandro Bastoni sends message to Perisic after Spurs move

Inter Milan stars Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez have reacted to Ivan Perisic’s heartfelt farewell message after leaving the club to join Tottenham.

Spurs confirmed the free transfer of Perisic on a two-year deal on Tuesday which will become active when his Inter contract expires later this month.

The move will see the Croatia international reunited with coach Antonio Conte, who managed him in Milan as they won the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season.

After seeing his seven-year spell at Inter come to an end, Perisic posted a farewell message on Instagram expressing his gratitude towards playing for the Nerazzurri.

The 33-year-old then received a post of good luck from now former teammate Bastoni, before Inter striker Martinez added: “What a player, good luck brother.”

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Italy international defender Bastoni recently with Conte thought to be keen on bringing in a new left-sided centre-back (Telegraph).

A price tag of £54 million has been placed on him by Inter (The Times), while the Evening Standard add he is ‘reluctant’ to leave the club this summer.

Perisic should be an excellent addition for Spurs over the next two seasons as he provides an immediate increase in quality on that left-hand side.

He spent quite a long time at Inter so it will have been challenging to leave after that spell, but now is the moment for him to have a fresh start in the Premier League and hopefully, he can provide a similar output he had under Conte before.
