Cesay, John, Paskotsi, Omole, Mundle – Who are Spurs’ pre-season youngsters?

Tottenham Hotspur were finally back in action ahead of the new campaign today as they took on Leyton Orient in a pre-season friendly, but there were some new faces on show.

For those who do not keep up with the academy in North London, it may have been the first time hearing from the likes of Nile John, Kallum Cesay, Maksim Paskotsi, Tobi Omole, and Romaine Mundle.

Let’s take a look at exactly who they are:

Nile John – John usually plays in central midfield and has been at the club since he was just seven-years-old. He even made his senior debut for Spurs last season in the Europa League. Skilled with both feet and often keeps things ticking over in central midfield. He played 27 games for Spurs across all age groups last season.

Kallum Cesay – Although he played as an attacking left-back today against Leyton, Cesay is usually a central midfielder and used to play for West Ham United. He also has experience playing at right-back. He managed four goals and two assists for Spurs U18s last time out in 16 matches.

Maksim Poskotsi – Burst onto the scene this summer with Estonia, making his senior debut and then earning a starting spot for the historic Baltic Cup win. He also stood out last season for Spurs U18s, putting in some excellent defensive performances while also getting forward and netting five goals (TransferMarkt).

Tobi Omole – Originally a midfielder, Omole transitioned into a central defensive role earlier in his youth career. Notably, he spent six years in the Arsenal academy before joining Tottenham. His first appearance for Spurs came in a 1-0 win over the Gunners too! He managed 20 appearances in the Premier League 2 for Spurs last season.

Romaine Mundle – A creative midfielder known for his assists and part of the youth side to win the Middlesex Cup. In the U18 Premier League, he managed nine assists and three goals last season in 33 games. He was also given three runouts in the Premier League 2.
