Championship club looking to snap up Spurs midfielder on permanent deal

West London Sport claim that Queens Park Rangers are interested in completing a permanent transfer for Luke Amos when the transfer window opens this summer.

Amos has completed a season-long loan spell at Loftus Road, during which the midfielder played an impressive 35 games, scoring two goals from a holding role (Wikipedia).

The central midfielder, who was backed to break into the Tottenham team by Mauricio Pochettino in 2018 (ESPN), suffered an ACL injury last season and it has thus taken him some time to find his feet at Loftus Road this year.

However, the report claims that Mark Warburton is a fan of the 23-year-old and believes in his qualities. It is suggested that Rangers would be interested in taking Amos on loan again next season but would prefer to make his move to West London permanent.

It remains to be seen as to whether Tottenham will be ready to sanction a permanent deal for Amos, with Football.London reporting back in April that the midfielder is one of several young players Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff want to assess during pre-season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Like many other Spurs fans, I had big hopes of Amos as he looked to have the technical quality as well as the mental attributes to succeed in the first-team. If not for the terrible injury he suffered at the beginning of last season, who knows what the youngster would have been able to achieve at Spurs. I suspect that Tottenham will find it difficult to refuse a decent offer for Amos this summer.
