Charlie Nicholas predicts the winner of Wolves vs Tottenham

Sky Sports football pundit Charlie Nicholas has shared his prediction ahead of the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London side head to the Black Country to face a side in form, Wolves are now unbeaten in 11 Premier League games (W5 D6), last having a longer run without defeat in the top-flight between February-September 1959 (18).

Tottenham have won three of their four Premier League matches under José Mourinho (L1), as many as they did in their final 15 under Mauricio Pochettino (W3 D6 L6). They’ve scored three goals-per-game under Mourinho, compared to 1.3 in those final 15 under Pochettino.

Nicholas believes that it will be Wolves who will take all three points from the match to cast Spurs further adrift from their hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League.

He told Sky Sports: “This is a cracking game. Tottenham’s defence is leaking goals, but you could see the delight on Jose Mourinho’s face walking away with a 3-1 defeat at Bayern Munich in midweek. Ryan Sessegnon scored the goal which was a positive for him and the team, but nobody played well. He is having to continue the way their habits are.

“Wolves are unbeaten in 11 which is remarkable from their slow start. They have enough in the squad at the moment. – Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez are both in form and they love an open game of football – they do not like having to manipulate the ball. I am going to go with an entertaining Wolves win.

“Prediction: “3-2.”

Opinion

Defeat for Spurs in this match would be catastrophic, they need to be coming away from Molineux with the victory if they consider themselves to be a top four side.

Defensively we have had issues that need to be addressed, however, the lack of time Mourinho has had on the training pitch with his squad is an obvious frustration for the Portuguese.
