Some Spurs fans on social media have defended Harry Kane after rival supporters accused the Tottenham captain of endangering opponents by making contact with them in mid-air.
The incident involving Kane and Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana during Tottenham’s 2-1 win over the Seagulls last month caused a lot of controversy.
The Tottenham striker seemingly stood his ground as Lallana jumped for the ball and clattered into Kane, with Spurs being awarded a penalty as a result.
A similar incident occurred during Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday, as Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes lost balance after colliding with the England captain when he jumped to win the ball.
Some opposition fans took to social media to question why Kane was getting away with these incidents and suggested that the 27-year-old was putting fellow professionals at risk of serious injury.
Some Spurs fans then shot back, suggesting that Kane was being unfairly picked on and that there was nothing particularly illegal or dangerous about what the striker was doing.

Your compilation is 3 videos. One of which he is kneed in the back and is awarded with a penalty and one where he literally stands and takes a knee to his side. Cresswell is one he is looking for. So your “compilation” is one incident.

If you ever played football you will know exactly what Kane is trying to do here. He’s trying to shield the ball on the half turn from Gabriel so he can spring a counter attack. Then Gabriel clatters through back of him 🙄 pic.twitter.com/anrSekyUMR

As much as people don’t want to accept it, Kane doesn’t have to jump if he think he can get an advantage doing something else. https://t.co/TJXklXUPsk
