Chelsea player’s agent provides update on future following reported Spurs interest

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Willian which would see Jose Mourinho re-united with his former player (Mundo Deportivo).

The Portuguese signed Willian from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala when he was Chelsea manager in 2013.

The Brazilian ace will be a free agent at the end of the season after he failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

Willian has scored seven times and registered six assists in 37 matches for Chelsea this season (transfermarkt).

His agent Kia Joorabchian has insisted that he has not spoken to the 31-year-old who is back in Brazil about his future with the coronavirus pandemic currently at the forefont of people’s minds.

He told Sky Sports: “There is a lot of speculation but I can genuinely explain to you we have not spoken about transfers or anything like that.

“No one has the right feeling.

“Neither us nor the other side have the feeling to discuss something when so much is happening around the world that is so much more important.”

Willian may have to win over Spurs fans should he move to north London afters he famously snubbed an almost completed transfer to Tottenham in 2013 only to join Chelsea at the last minute despite having travelled to Hotspur Way to undergo a medical (Guardian).
