Chelsea sign reported Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt somewhat of a blow in the transfer market today, as not only have Chelsea strengthened their squad, but they have also snapped up a reported Spurs target in doing so.

It was announced today that the Blues have signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £58m (Independent).

This is a huge amount of money for the 20-year-old American winger, a value Levy would have undoubtedly scoffed at.

It is unclear whether Pulisic will make the grade in the Premier League, and has struggled for game time this season in Germany with the emergence of Jadon Sancho at Dortmund.

The attacker has gone back on loan to Dortmund from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham, United, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich had all been linked with Pulisic at one time or another (Independent).

Could he be a replacement for Eden Hazard, or is it just a marker of Chelsea’s intent to bridge the gap between themselves and those teams above them in the League?
