Thiago Silva’s wife has taken a cheeky dig at Tottenham Hotspur on social media by mocking the North London club’s lack of silverware over recent years.
As every Tottenham fan will be aware of, the meme about Spurs not winning trophies is commonly repeated by opposition fans on social media.
Despite coming close to winning both the Premier League and Champions League over the last few years, the Lilywhites have not managed to get over the line, which has seen some Arsenal and Chelsea fans label Tottenham as ‘bottlers’.
The last major trophy that Spurs got their hands on was all the way back in 2008 but the club have a great opportunity to end their trophy drought this season having booked their place in the Carabao Cup final and are continuing to compete on all four fronts.
Silva only arrived at Chelsea in the summer but it seems like he has his family have picked up the club’s tradition of mocking Tottenham pretty quickly.
According to talkSPORT, when the central defender’s wife Belle was asked by a fan to explain who Chelsea’s biggest rivals were without saying the club’s name, she responded: “My football team’s rival has no trophies.”
