Chris Sutton makes brutal comment about Spurs during Newcastle v Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur missed perhaps their best chance of the season to put some pressure on League leaders Man City and Liverpool last weekend.

Spurs featured in the early kick off against Burnley, and a win would take them just two points behind their two title rivals.

This would have been the first time Spurs had been in realistic touching distance of the leaders.

However, Pochettino’s men simply didn’t turn up, and Burnley were stronger and more determined on the day.

The home side won 2-1 at Turf Moor, and after Liverpool scraped a point against Man United, Spurs were pushed back to six points behind.

With an inferior goal difference to boot, Spurs may not get a better chance to mount a real title chance all season, and will surely be kicking themselves when looking back on the result.

Burnley faced Newcastle away last night, and in a turn of events, were completely outplayed, losing 2-0.

Chris Sutton had this to say (Express): “I bet there are Spurs players watching this game right now thinking ‘blimey, how on earth did we lose to these at the weekend’.

“It’s all been so predictable, Newcastle have stood up to it very, very well.”
