Christian Eriksen explains the difference between playing for Spurs and Inter Milan

Former Tottenham Hotspur Christian Eriksen has admitted that he is enjoying the experience of playing his football in Italy.

Eriksen had a difficult start to life at Inter after joining the club during the January transfer window.

He was initially found it difficult to impose himself on games and came under some harsh criticism for his performances (Tuttomercatoweb).

Antonio Conte even warned the former Spurs man that he needed to raise his game if he is to succeed in the Serie A.

However, there have been signs over the last few weeks that the Dane is getting adjusted to his new surroundings, as he has been showing steady improvement on the pitch.

The 28-year-old came off the bench to score Inter’s second goal in their 2-0 win over Getafe in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, a result which took the Nerazzurri into the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

When asked about the differences between the Premier League and the Serie A, Eriksen told Football Italia after the match: “Premier League football is certainly more direct. You’re constantly running up and down the pitch.

“In Italy, meanwhile, more attention is paid to winning the ball back and managing certain moments of the match.

“I’ve had to deal with being man-marked at times. It’s a different kind of game from what I’m used to, but it’s enjoyable and I like it.”

If anything, Italian football should suit Eriksen more than the Premier League did. Serie A teams are reliant on midfield playmakers to pick their way through, with many teams content to sit in a low block. The Dane is also likely to get a little more time on the ball than he did in the Premier League, while the physical demands on him will also be lower.
