Tottenham Hotspur fans will all be eagerly awaiting some form of Christian Eriksen news this summer, with the future of the midfield man up in the air.
Eriksen has been in poor form over the last month for Spurs, but no one can doubt the talent the Great Dane possesses.
Since signing him from Ajax, Eriksen has developed from a promising playmaker to one of the best players in his position in the world.
However, Eriksen’s contract will enter its final year come the end of this campaign, something that may worry his current club.
If Eriksen refuses to sign a new deal, Tottenham will be forced to either sell him for a profit this summer, or let him go on a free come the summer of 2020.
The Dane’s agent has now spoken out about transfer speculation, and has done nothing to reassure Spurs fans that a new deal is on the way.
Martin Schoots said (Standard): “I don’t want to add to the speculation around Christian’s contract and football future. Christian is only focusing on the football. He has evolved from a world class talent into a world class player.”
