‘City don’t look right’ – Pundit backs Spurs to get a result against Man City

Mark Lawrenson has backed Tottenham Hotspur to hold Manchester City to a draw on Sunday in North London.

Spurs have a fully fit squad to choose from for the first time in many months, with Cristian Stellini confirming in his press conference on Friday that both Richarlison and Lucas Moura are fit for the clash against City (Football.London).

Pep Guardiola’s men have a poor record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and they are under pressure to get all three points to close the gap on Arsenal after the Gunners lost 1-0 to Everton this weekend.

However, the Lilywhites will have to do without Antonio Conte on the touchline as the Italian successfully underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder earlier this week after being diagnosed with cholecystitis.

Son Heung-min found his scoring boots with a well-taken brace in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Preston North End in the FA Cup fourth round last week, and Lawrenson believes that the South Korean and Harry Kane will help the Lilywhites salvage a point on Sunday.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “It looks like Heung-min Son’s back to form, Harry Kane’s looking to break Tottenham’s all-time top scorer record but it’s Manchester City they’re up against. I’m going to go for a draw here which will really help Arsenal.

“City don’t look right and I’m not quite sure what’s happened but they could quite easily go and win all of the next 10-15 games and part of me thinks they might just do that, despite going for a draw in this one. Tottenham 1-1 Manchester City.”

Having three potent attacking weapons on the bench in Richarlison, Danjuma and Lucas will make a big difference as it means that Stellini can bring on pacy players late on against tired legs. It is important that we do not concede first due to unforced errors at the back, which has become all too common over the last couple of months.
