Classic Clip: Spurs vs Arsenal 1991

White Hart Lane - Header

In the latest in our series of classic clips, we bring you action from Tottenham Hotspur’s FA Cup semi-final win against Arsenal in 1991.

The game is most famous for Gazza’s fantastic free-kick which left David Seaman no chance, and helped Spurs reach the final where they met Nottingham Forest.

Check out the lengthy clip below.  What do you remember about the day?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I was sitting on my sofa with sunday lunch on my lap dreading the worst and another defeat to Arsenal, really thinking we had no chance. Even when Gazza stepped up to that free kick roast beef and potatoes almost passing my lips when sensibly I decided to put my plate on the floor dreaming of the impossible. There is a football god – as that man scored the most amazing Spurs goal I have ever seen to this day. I screamed at the top of my voice until horse. Even beating them 5 – 1 the other year will never top this game for shear drama and unpredictability. The game will stick in my memory till I die.

  2. I can remember this day like it was yesterday. Managed to get tickets in the spurs end with 5 gooners sitting in front of us.

Gazza lines up the freekick, I said to my mate he not going to shot from there? He bloody is…………….. Going bananas and ruffing up the hair of the gooner in front all he could do was smile! Prizeless.
We were still in wembley 40mins after it had finished with the players on the pitch. MY best ever footie memory.
