Tottenham Hotspur have had a number of characters through the years, but few stand out as more bizarre players than Cameroonian left-back, Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Assou-Ekotto played for Spurs over seven seasons in the Premier League, appearing over 200 games for the Lilywhites and scoring four goals (Wikipedia).
Clive Allen, who worked as a coach at Tottenham while Benoit was at the club, has now recalled an old conversation he had with the left-back in his new book, ‘Up Front’.
Allen claims that Assou-Ekotto once revealed that he wanted to become a pornstar after retiring from football, much to Allen’s surprise.
The former coach claims that he thought Benoit was joking at first, but the defender seemed completely serious about the decision at the time.
However, Assou-Ekotto has previously claimed that he was only joking when he had this conversation back during his Spurs days and is surprised people took it so seriously.
