‘Clown’ – Townsend and some Spurs fans fume at ex-striker’s comment about Pochettino

Some Spurs fans on social media are not impressed with Darren Bent for suggesting that Mikel Arteta and Brendan Rodgers are both better coaches than Mauricio Pochettino.

It was under the Argentine’s reign that Spurs became an established top-four side, qualifying for the Champions League for four straight years and even pushing for the league title in two of those seasons.

The 48-year-old infamously took the North Londoners close to being crowned European champions on the back of two transfer windows where the club failed to sign a single player.

However, Bent told talkSPORT that the former Spurs boss cannot be considered in the same bracket as the likes of Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti since he did not win any silverware during his five and a half years in North London.

What upset some Spurs fans even more was the suggestion that Arteta is a better coach than Pochettino because he guided the Gunners to FA Cup triumph last season.

Former Tottenham winger, Andros Townsend accused Bent of trying to stir up controversy take for the sake of clickbait, while some Spurs were much more scathing in their response.
