Club announce teenage talent has left them to join Tottenham this summer

Estonian champions, Flora Tallinn have announced that one of their hot young prospects, Maksim Paskotsi, has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Paskotsi is a highly rated central defender who has already made two appearances for the Flora first team (transfermarkt.com).

Spurs reportedly registered their interest in the youngster a couple of months ago, with the 17-year-old having a trial at Hotspur Way back in August.

It looks like the North Londoners were impressed with what they saw from Paskotsi as he has penned a three-year contract with the club.

The teenager will now be joining the Spurs academy and will be hoping to continue his development under the watchful eyes of Tottenham’s academy coaches.

The youngster admitted his delight at being able to sign with the Lilywhites. Speaking to Flora’s official website, Paskotsi said on his move: “I can’t describe how happy I am right now! It is a very difficult but at the same time a powerful step in my career.

“I want to thank all the Flora players and especially the coaches who gave me a lot and I am sure I will not forget these people and with them we will remain good friends. For coaches and players – thank you for your trust and experience! One club. One family!”

The club’s sporting director, Norbert Hurst, was also delighted that the youngster got his move to Tottenham.

Hurst said: “At the end of July we received information that Tottenham is interested in Maxim and would like to test him. Testing went well, Tottenham was pleased.

“At the same time, I got to know the club to get an idea of what the environment would be like if a player had to move there. It soon became clear that people were open and supportive. Every player brought in must have a representative team perspective.

“The players are not piled up either. In addition to the team’s training, individual plans are made on-site to bring the player’s mastery to the highest possible level.”
