Feyenoord general manager Dennis te Kloese has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make an approach for their manager Arne Slot.
Slot has been linked with the vacant Spurs hotseat amid Daniel Levy’s chaotic search for Antonio Conte’s replacement which has seen the north Londoners tumble down the table following the departure.
Levy decided to hand the responsibility following Conte’s departure to his assistant Cristian Stellini who was also dismissed in the wake of Spurs’ 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle United, while Ryan Mason has failed to put his hand up for the job with just one win in four games.
Yesterday’s 3-1 defeat at home to Brentford has severely dented the club’s hopes of securing European qualification for next season which is now out of their own hands.
Feyenoord have already won the Eredivisie with one matches remaining, losing just one top flight game all season.
Slot did not rule out a move to Tottenham on Friday when he was asked the question at a press conference and admitted it would be hard to resist a move to the Premier League (Metro).
Slot said: “Now I have to give you the same answer that I just gave to the Dutch media, that we are here for the game on Sunday instead of talking about this, because every answer I give, in respect of your question, will bring up extra questions.
“So when it comes to Feyenoord, this morning already we were working on plans for during the summer and after the summer, so it just continues like that because I still have a remaining contract for two years.”
When asked further on whether he was aware if he was in contention for the Spurs job, he added: “That’s a question or is that for you to tell me? I just said to your [Dutch] colleagues, “Next question” but I already gave a few times an answer to a certain question but like I said, this is not the moment to talk about this.
‘You can continue keeping asking the same questions over and over again, but the answer is every time the same. We are here for the game on Sunday. You’ve asked some questions about how we experienced being champions, it’s quite normal that I answer those questions, but all the other ones are not for this moment.”
Te Kloese told ESPN Netherlands when asked about the 44-year-old: “[Slot] still has a contract for two years. That has been said before and we have not been approached by any club.
“It is up to Arne to say something about that [his future]. But for us there is no ambiguity about it. We assume that he will remain the trainer of Feyenoord.
“He has a contract for two more years and this summer there is no release-clause in his contract, so we can say no if we want. And we have quite a good story here as well. Champions League next year, a lot of new players were signed last summer and they proved real good players in this team and their contracts also run for quite some years to come. So we have something here to look forward to.”

Slot would definitely find the lure of a move to the Premier League hard to resist, even with Tottenham in such turmoil at the moment.
If Daniel Levy did decide to had the responsibility to the Dutchman, he must be given time to turn the club around rather than have another Nuno-type appointment who only lasts a few months at best.
