Club director hints Spurs and Arsenal-linked defender could sign new deal

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has said that rumoured Tottenham target Evan Ndicka could commit his future to the Bundesliga club.

Ndicka has started every single Bundesliga and Champions League game for Frankfurt this season but his future at the Deutsche Bank Park is up in the air as his current contract runs out at the end of the campaign (Transfermarkt).

The centre-back’s future has thus been the subject of a lot of speculation over recent weeks, with Tottenham thought to be battling the likes of AS Roma, AC Milan and Newcastle United for the 23-year-old’s signature (Romagiallorossa.it).

Over recent days, Spurs’ North London rivals, Arsenal, have also emerged as contenders for the Frenchman’s signature, with Il Romanista claiming last Thursday that the Gunners are working on an agreement to sign the defender on a free transfer next summer.

However, Krosche has now talked up the possibility of Ndicka signing a new contract in Frankfurt. The German club’s sporting director told BILD: “We are still in talks with him. He can imagine staying in Frankfurt.”

If Ndicka does not agree on a new contract with Frankfurt over the next couple of weeks, the Bundesliga club will likely be looking to cash in on the centre-back in January in order to avoid losing him on a free next summer.

However, perhaps the 23-year-old might prefer to leave as a free agent so that he could demand a big salary at his next club and will have more options to choose from.
