Hojbjerg has just a year left on his contract at Tottenham and it has been widely reported over the last couple of months that the midfielder’s four-year stay at the club is expected to come to an end this summer.

This includes an update by Football Insider, who claimed last month that Spurs are now listening to offers for the Dane, who is alleged to be attracting plenty of interest from Serie A, with Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli named as potential destinations for the player.

Last week, AS revealed that Athletic Madrid are also major contenders for the Tottenham man’s signature, with Diego Simeone thought to view the 28-year-old as an ideal fit for his system.

The report explained that the La Liga giants also showed interest in the former Southampton man last summer and are now hopeful that they can strike a deal ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Paul O’Keefe has now taken to social media to reveal that even though Hojbjerg has only a year left on his deal, Tottenham want £25m for his services.

Tottenham expect Hojbejrg to be of interest to many clubs around Europe, which is why they are not too keen to drop their price too low.

The midfielder’s value could increase further if he does well at the Euros for Denmark this summer.

Hopefully, a decent fee for Hojbjerg will allow Tottenham to have the funds to make the move for Atalanta’s Ederson who could be a significant upgrade in the number six position.
