Club president admits Spurs-linked wing-back will be sold this summer

Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi admitted that the Turkish club will cash in on rumoured Tottenham target Ridvan Yilmaz this summer.

Tottenham have strengthened at left wing-back this summer with the addition of Ivan Perisic on a free transfer, and the Croat is expected to compete with Ryan Sessegnon for a starting birth next season (Football.London).

However, that has not stopped the North London club from being linked with other younger left-backs, with Udinese’s Destiny Udogie being mooted as a target over recent weeks (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Yilmaz is another player who is thought to be on Spurs’ radar, with Turkiye Gazetesi reporting previously that Antonio Conte’s men were ready to pay around €8m (£6.7m) to land the youngster this summer.

The report added that Besiktas are holding out for a fee of around €10m (£8.4m) for the full-back.

The 20-year-old admitted to Hurriyet last month that he dreams of playing in the Premier League one day.

Cebi has now revealed that Besiktas will cash in on Yilmaz if they receive an offer of around £5.5m.

He told A Spor about the Tukey international: “Ridvan Yilmaz is leaving. He also costs a pretty good price. With this transfer, approximately 6.5 million euros (£5.5 million) will enter our safe. We will get a 20 per cent share from the next sale of Ridvan.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The Perisic singing might not rule out the possibility of Spurs being in for another left-wing-back this summer. Paratici might be looking to futureproof, given that the Croat might only have a couple more years left in him at the top level. The North Londoners might be considering singing a player like Udogie or Yilmaz and loaning them out.
