Club president admits there is ‘a lot of interest’ in rumoured Tottenham target

Torino president Urbano Cairo has revealed that multiple clubs from around Europe are showing interest in rumoured Tottenham target Gleison Bremer.

It was previously reported that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a fan of Bremer and is keen on bringing him to North London this summer (CalcioMercato).

Spurs are thought to be facing competition from AC Milam (Il Giornale 12/01/22 via SportWitness), Inter Milan (Fabrizio Romano) and Liverpool (Goal) for the Brazilian’s signature.

According to Gazetta dello Sport, Torino value the defender at around €50m (£41m) ahead of the summer transfer window.

In an interview with DAZN, Italy’s MySkills show, the 25-year-old admitted recently that he prefers playing in a three-man defence rather than in a back four.

Cairo has now admitted that plenty of clubs have expressed an interest in signing the Brazilian in the summer and refused to rule out the possibility of the centre-back leaving.

When asked about Inter’s interest in Bremer, the Torino president told TuttoMercatoWEB: “Have Inter made themselves heard for Bremer? There is a lot of interest, even abroad but let’s see.

“Let’s wait and finish the championship well. There are seven games left, which are not few, then we’ll see.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bremer is evidently going to be one of the most sought-after central defenders in Europe this summer. I do not expect Spurs to get involved in a bidding war for the 25-year-old as he is at his best on the right side of a three-man defence – a position where we already have plenty of options.
