Club reveal information about opening ceremony at new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur fans have had to wait a long time for the chance to watch their team play at the new stadium.

After almost two full seasons at Wembley, Spurs will finally go back home to N17 at the start of April and play all their remaining home games at the new venue.

It was confirmed that the club’s first home game would be on Wednesday, April 3rd against Crystal Palace, after Brighton had booked their place in the semi final of the FA Cup in a penalty shoot-out win against Millwall. Chris Hughton’s side will now visit the new stadium on the Apil 23rd for their Premier League fixture.

Today, the club announced on the official site that the game against Palace will kick-off at 7.45pm and have also asked fans to arrive at the ground early as there will be an opening ceremony that will begin 30 minutes before kick-off.

If the opening ceremony is anything like the classy finale held at White Hart Lane a couple of years ago, then fans certainly wouldn’t want to miss it.

Frustratingly, the club’s first fixture on the stadium is an evening kick-off which limits the amount of time and emphasis they can allocate to the ceremony.
