Spurs complete first signing of the summer

Tottenham Hotspur have gone 16 months without signing a single player, but it looks as if they are finally welcoming a new man on board, albeit in the form of an U19 starlet.

Spurs have been looking at Notts County’s Kion Etete for some time now, with HITC reporting that he first joined up with Spurs in March 2019.

At this time, he scored two goals against West Ham United in an U18 match as part of his trail, clearly impressing those in charge of the Spurs academy.

Etete was back at Tottenham again around a week ago, as Spurs announced their squad for the U19 Terborg Tournament in the Netherlands.

The squad announcement feature Kion Etete, confirming that the 17-year-old was certainly on Spurs’ radar.

Notts County FC have now confirmed on Twitter that Etete has joined up with Champions League finalists Spurs on a permanent basis.

Hopefully, Etete can make the climb through the ranks over the next few years and into the first team.
