Club reveal the future of Tottenham target will be announced in the next week

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be looking to invest in the summer transfer window after failing to bring in a new player for the last 15 months.

One man who Spurs have been linked with of late in Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt (Daily Mail), a winger/attacking midfielder who has been tearing it up in Germany this season.

The attacker racked up an impressive 10 goals and 17 assists this season in the Bundesliga, a staggering number of goal involvements that helped fire his club into the Champions League spots.

ESPN claim that Liverpool are also interested in signing the 23-year-old, as Brandt has become one of Germany’s most exciting prospects.

Spurs fans may look back fondly on the last purchase they made from Bayer Leverkusen, as Heung Min Son transferred to North London back in 2015 (BBC).

Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Ruud Voller has now revealed that an announcement will be made over Brandt’s future in the next week (Sky).

He said: “We know exactly which clubs have knocked [for Brandt]. Brandt has some requests, and in the next five, six or seven days there will be a decision.”

While this could be good news for Tottenham and Liverpool, as we reported earlier, the favourite destination for Brandt seems to be to Borussia Dortmund (Bild).

Either way, it looks as if we will know by the end of the week.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Brandt can indeed be picked up for just £21.5m as some reports suggest (Mirror), then it would be a no-brainer deal for Spurs. The calibre of player versus the bargain price is an absolute steal, and Brandt would be capable of strengthening the Spurs squad as well as pushing for a starting spot, especially if Eriksen leaves.
