Djurgarden’s sporting director Bosse Andersson has said that he is proud of the deal that the deal that the Swedish club struck with Tottenham for Lucas Bergvall towards the dying stages of the transfer window.
Tottenham appear to have pulled off a real coup, with Bergvall being thought of by many in Swedish football as a potential star for the future.
Spurs saw off competition from Barcelona to land the 18-year-old on transfer deadline day (Mundo Deportivo), with the midfielder set to arrive at Hotspur Way next summer after completing the season at Djurgarden.
According to Expressen, the Lilywhites will pay an initial fee of £8.4m for the teenager, with the deal also containing several add-ons.
The outlet explained that the agreement includes £3.7m of ‘easy’ bonuses while Tottenham would also have to pay for an additional £4.3m if the player is successful at the club, thus potentially bringing the total fee to £16.4m.
The publication also pointed out that even if only the easy bonuses are triggered and Spurs end up paying around £12m for Bergvall, he would still be the most expensive export ever from the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Djurgarden are proud to see Bergvall join Tottenham
Andersson is certainly over the moon with the deal that was struck, admitting that both the midfielder and the club got what they wanted.
The Djurgarden sporting director told Aftonbladet: “It has been unprecedented. It’s clear that it affects Lucas, it affects Djurgården and it affects me too. There has to be responsibility somewhere. We know what we have done and who we have been in contact with.
“When different amounts are mentioned and so on, many messages were received about how incompetent we are in that area and it’s clear that it takes time, but I am extremely proud of this deal. We get a very good transfer fee and he gets to choose where he wants to go.”

The way the deal has been structured, with various performance-related add-ons, suits Tottenham. The North London club would be happy to pay £16.4m for Bergvall if it means that he goes on to fulfil his potential at N17.
