In a feel-good story emerging from Norway, Jarle Eike, who coaches in the lower leagues in the country, has been gifted with a chance to watch his beloved Tottenham play live.

The story has been carried by the Norwegian publication Aftenbladet (11/10/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) and explains that Eike is in charge of Valen IL, who play in the country’s sixth tier.

Valen have had a fantastic season and celebrated winning the title over the weekend, having won 13 of their 16 league matches and scoring a whopping 59 goals in the process.

The report explains that the club have picked up another four trophies already this year and are still in the running for a further two. However, the coach who led them to this brilliant success, Eike, is now set to step down from his role.

The report reveals that everyone at the club had a celebration over the weekend and that the players came together to hand their departing coach a special gift.

The gift was a trip to London to watch his beloved Spurs in action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

On receiving the gift, Eike is quoted as saying: “I have chills all over my body over the gift I received from the players.

“Absolutely insane! Unexpected and touching! It proves what an incredible bunch they are. I’m speechless.

“I am eternally grateful to have been able to work with the great people in the support staff and the players. A unique bunch!”
