Some Spurs fans on social media are calling for the club to bring Christian Eriksen back to North London after it emerged that the midfielder is not allowed to play in Italy following his cardiac arrest during the summer.
Eriksen collapsed during his country’s Euro 2020 game against Finland in June and had life-saving treatment on the pitch. He later had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device – a type of pacemaker – fitted.
Inter have now confirmed that the former Spurs man does not meet the requirements of sporting fitness from the Italian medical authority and will thus not be able to play in Serie A.
The statement went on to add that the 29-year-old could resume playing competitively in other countries which have different requirements.
BBC Sport have said that it is unclear which leagues in Europe would allow players to participate in their respective leagues with an ICD device.
Reacting to the news, many Tottenham fans on social media have urged the Danish international to ‘come back home’.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is not clear if the Premier League will allow players to play with an ICD device. Even if the PL gave the green light, I am not sure Tottenham (or any other club for that matter) would want to take the risk of signing him.
If Eriksen is not able to continue his career at the top level, I would love to see him brought back to Spurs in a coaching capacity, either as a set-piece coach or as a youth coach.
