‘Come good soon’ – Chris Sutton shares Spurs v Everton score prediction

Former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers forward Chris Sutton has shared his score prediction prior to the Premier League encounter between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

With Antonio Conte’s side having played out a 3-2 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night, Spurs will be looking to make it three wins out of three.

Last time out, Everton were on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Goodison Park which also saw star man Anthony Gordon pick up a fifth booking of the season and will sit out the game due to a one-match suspension.

Sutton believes that Spurs will secure victory against Frank Lampard’s side with the timing of their first goal likely to be crucial to the outcome.

He told BBC Sport: “Everton were a bit underwhelming against Manchester United at the weekend, especially after taking an early lead.

“The Toffees defence has improved a lot since the last time they came to Spurs – they lost 5-0 in March – but United showed you can still get at them.

“I think Everton boss Frank Lampard will be quite pragmatic here, but stopping Spurs won’t be easy. Harry Kane is up and running and Son Heung-min is still in my fantasy team and is going to come good soon.

“So, Tottenham will find a way though. How comfortable this is for them just depends on when they score their first goal.

Sutton’s prediction: 3-1

Everton may have only won two matches this season but they pose a big risk to grinding out a draw in north London tomorrow evening.

The potential return of Dejan Kulusevski will come as timely boost for Tottenham who at times have looked short of creative ideas when the Swede has been absent, he will once again be missing for this match due to his hamstring issue.
