Speaking on ESPN’s YouTube channel, Ian Darke has predicted where Tottenham will finish in the upcoming Premier League season.
Spurs clinched fourth spot and a return to Champions League football with a resounding 5-0 win over relegated Norwich City on the final day of last season (BBC).
Antonio Conte’s magnificent turnaround at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was at the expense of North London rivals Arsenal who slipped into fifth position.
The Italian has ensured that his club have been active in the transfer window this summer, with six signings currently completed. Alasdair Gold has even reported that Conte could bolster his squad further before the end of the window.
Prior to the transfer window, a number of experts associated with the Mirror predicted their top six finishes for the 2022/23 season. Interestingly, in the majority of picks, Spurs were found languishing outside of the top four.
However, Darke, ESPN’s lead La Liga commentator, made a bold prediction regarding the Lilywhites. In a graphic on ESPN’s video, the 68-year-old had Spurs to finish the season in third place, leapfrogging London counterparts Chelsea.

I think Spurs’ summer business, and importantly the speed at which it was handled, will give Conte an early season advantage.
Without wanting to sound too bold, I see Spurs drastically improving on last season’s points tally, but where that leaves them on the final day will depend on the performances of their rivals.
