Confirmed Line Up: Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur face a difficult test this afternoon when they face Liverpool for the first time since losing in the Champions League final in early June.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have started the Premier League campaign in impressive fashion having only dropped two points from their opening nine fixtures.

Spurs in comparison have had a less than favourable start having only managed to win three of their top flight matches.

Mauricio Pochettino has selected his starting eleven that takes to the field at Anfield with the away side being overwhelming underdogs to get the victory.

This will be Tottenham’s 25th Premier League game away from home against a side starting the day top of the table – they won their first such match (2-0 at Blackburn in November 1992), but are winless in their subsequent 23 games (D3 L20).

This is who starts for Tottenham.

Tottenham: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane (C)

Subs: Austin, Davies, Vertonghen, Dier, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Lucas
