Alasdair Gold has revealed the latest on Mohammed Kudus’ injury and whether he could return to action for Tottenham immediately after the international break.

Spurs suffered a bitter blow in the lead-up to the international break, with their 3-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest leaving the club on the brink of the bottom three.

However, the timing of the break may work to the club’s advantage by giving some of Tottenham’s injured players additional time to recover.

Kudus is one of the players who is close to returning to action, having missed almost three months of football so far. Tudor implied that Kudus could potentially return within 10 days, but there is some confusion over that statement.

Could Mohammed Kudus feature for Tottenham against Sunderland?

Spurs next take to the field against Sundland on April 12, and fans would be hoping that the Ghanaian could be available for selection at the Stadium of Light.

However, Gold has now revealed that while Kudus is out training on the grass, the expectation is that he will take another 10 days after the conclusion of the international break to be ready to take to the field.

Referring to Igor Tudor’s comments on the former West Ham’s recovery, the journalist said on Talking Tottenham podcast: “He (Tudor) said he’s doing some early grass work, and he should be back with the team. It was a little bit mixed the way he said it.

“It kind of sounded like he was going to say it was over these three weeks. And then he said something about 10 days. The feeling within the club was that he meant 10 days from the end of this three-week break or the international break.”

Three other senior Spurs men also nearing a return to action

According to Premier League injuries, Tottenham could be boosted by the return of Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma after the international break.

Additionally, Mathys Tel, who hobbled off with an injury in the second-half against Nottingham Forest, is also expected to be available to face Sunderland.

The return of these players would undoubtedly be crucial for the Lilywhites, who need all the help they can get in their quest to secure their Premier League status.
