Conte assures Spurs fans Harry Kane is ‘happy’ – Praises how involved he is in the project

Antonio Conte has spoken in glowing terms about the way Harry Kane conducts himself in training and praised the striker’s leadership.

Kane has only found the back of the net twice under Conte – in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday and the 2-1 loss to NS Mura last month in the Europa Conference League.

However, the Italian insisted a couple of weeks ago that he has been happy with the striker’s all-round performances.

There have been some suggestions that Manchester City could reignite their interest in the England captain in January after losing out on him in the summer

However, Fabrizio Romano said this week that Kane has a good relationship with Conte and ruled out the possibility of the striker leaving Spurs next month.

The Tottenham head coach has now said that he has been happy with the application Kane has shown since he arrived at the club and stated the striker’s body language suggests he is happy.

When asked if the 28-year-old is happier now than he was a month and a half ago, Conte told Football.London: “Harry has showed me great availability and showed me to be totally involved in the Tottenham project. I see him every day and I see that he is happy.

“He leads in the training ground, he leads in the dressing room and he leads during the training sessions in a fantastic way. I am happy for what I am seeing every day.”

Kane’s body language certainly looks different now than it did under Nuno during the first couple of months of the season. The floodgates have not opened yet for the 28-year-old in front of goal but I am convinced it is just a matter of time before he finds his scoring boots.
