Conte comments on ‘100%’ completing his evaluation of the Spurs squad

Antonio Conte has revealed that he has now ‘100%’ completed his evaluation of the Tottenham squad, just before the start of the January transfer window.

The Spurs boss has long since told the media that he wants to concentrate on the players he already has and making them better rather than focusing on January transfer targets.

However, with the window now fast approaching, it appears the Italian has finally completed his assessment of the playing squad.

Conte admitted the squad as a whole needs improvement, something he claims to have realised after just seven days in charge of Tottenham.

The next stage is said to be a meeting between Conte and the club, which would presumably involve the likes of Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

Spurs currently sit in fifth in the Premier League table and will be looking to make a charge on the Champions League spots come the turn of the year.

Dan Kilpatrick has reported that Conte said he was ‘100%’ done with his evaluation and would next have a meeting with the club ‘to give my opinion about the squad.’

Conte also said: “For sure we need to improve the quality of this squad. I was sure after seven, ten days, two weeks about this. I then I made evaluations to decide which players I could count on.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Conte has likely made all of his decisions now, but it will come down to whether Levy and Paratici can find buyers for the players he does not want. Only then will they be able to turn to targets of their own, likely at wing-back, centre-back, and striker.
